More Samsung Galaxy Z Flip specs surface: Don’t expect 108MP camera

Samsung is hard at work on a clamshell foldable phone, said to be called the Galaxy Z Flip. We’ve previously heard about the phone’s chipset and battery, but a new leak has yielded screen and camera details.

Teen leaker Ishan Agarwal has claimed on Twitter that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip is equipped with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen, a 12MP main camera, a 10MP selfie camera, and 256GB of storage.

Agarwal also notes that the phone will have Black or Purple color schemes, Samsung One UI 2.1, a 3,300mAh or 3,500mAh battery, and a Snapdragon 855 chipset. The latter two details were also reported by XDA‘s Max Weinbach last week.

We also previously heard about the 10MP selfie camera, which is in line with other Galaxy flagships in 2019. The supposed addition of a 12MP main camera is seemingly new to us though, and would also be in line with other Galaxy flagships released last year.

These leaked specs suggest that the Galaxy Z Flip is essentially a 256GB Galaxy S10 in a foldable form factor, down to the chipset and main camera. Don’t expect 8K recording if the new foldable is indeed equipped with these specs, then. We can likely expect the Galaxy S10’s suite of camera features though, such as 4K/60fps recording and a night mode.

The latest round of leaks comes a few weeks after supposed real-world images of the Galaxy Z Flip appeared online. The images show a clamshell foldable phone with a center-mounted punch-hole cutout and two rear cameras.
