1. Incredibles 2

The 2018 sequel to The Incredibles is almost as good as the original and is a joy to watch. The sequel takes place immediately after the original, as the super-family is still trying to prove that they are needed in a world that distrusts people with powers.

A rich brother and sister team seem to want to help improve the image of super heroes, with the assistance of Elastigirl. However, a new villain wants to spoil those plans. Writer-director Brad Bird keeps the action going as we get introduced to a new batch of heroes, and we get some really funny scenes with baby Jack Jack. This is definitely one of the best kids movies on Netflix you can watch.

2. Coco

This 2007 movie is not only one of the best family movies on Netflix, but one of the best movies ever from Disney’s Pixar division. The story follows a young Mexican boy with a love for guitar, despite his family’s outright ban on all things relating to music. Determined to make a name for himself and prove his worth as a musician, young Miguel finds himself on a strange journey where he learns more about his family.

3. Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs

This 2009 movie is very loosely based on the children’s book of the same name. The writer-director team of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller were in charge of this adaptation. The story revolves around Flint Lockwood, who manages to invent a way to create food out of water. However, he also manages to lose the food-making-machine in the clouds above, and thus his home town has to deal with tons of food falling from the skies. It’s a funny movie, even with its very goofy premise.

4. Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2

Ralph and Vanellope just can’t stop getting into trouble. Vanellope’s arcade game breaks down and might be thrown out without a replacement part. The dynamic duo sets on a quest to find it online. We all know the internet is not always a nice place, so you can only imagine the adventures they get into.

5. Coraline

This stop-motion animated movie from 2009 is based on a story by famed fantasy author Neil Gaiman. It features a young girl who discovers her home has a secret doorway that leads to what seems at first to be an idealized parallel world. However, this world is not what it seems. The animation and art direction are amazing, and they are combined with a story that’s imaginative but still very accessible for both kids and their families.

6. Peter Rabbit

Who would have thought this modern retelling of the classic children’s book would be so good? The mix of live-action and CGI tells its own version of Peter Rabbit and his friends, who spend their time enjoying the food in Mr. McGregor’s garden.

Peter and company have to deal with a new relative of Mr. McGregor who wants to get rid of this infestation. James Corden voices Peter Rabbit with confidence combined with humor, and the other actors, both voice and live-action, do excellent jobs as well.

7. How the Grinch Stole Christmas

The classic Christmas book from Dr. Suess was adapted to a live-action film in 2000. While it is a Christmas-themed movie, it’s also one of the best kids movies on Netflix. Jim Carrey may be almost completely unrecognizable thanks to the excellent makeup, but his humor and attitude still come through.

The Grinch hates Christmas and wants to take it away from nearby Whoville and its residents. However, he might find that could be more difficult than he thinks.

8. Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse

The best superhero movie of 2018 was not Avengers: Infinity War, Aquaman, or Deadpool 2. It was this animated release that took Marvel’s Spider-Man and turned it into several different versions. It also happens to be one of the best family movies on Netflix.

The movie primarily focuses on Miles Morales, who becomes the new Spider-Man. He discovers there’s a multiverse, each one with a different Spider character, including a talking pig named Spider-Ham. The movie’s CGI visuals also do an excellent job in bringing the four-color comic book look to life as well.

9. Spy Kids

Writer-director Robert Rodriques bounces between hard-edge action and horror films with children’s movies, and none are better than the original 2001 Spy Kids. A brother and sister discover their parents are actually super-spies, and have to rescue them from being kidnapped by a super-villain.

This movie has lots of cool action sequences. The kids have to use their wits, combined with some over-the-top gadgets, to save their mom and dad. It’s the start of the Spy Kids franchise and one of the best kids movies on Netflix.

10. The Dark Crystal

The original 1982 Jim Henson film remains one of the best family movies on Netflix, or anywhere for that matter. This fantasy movie centers on the character Jen, an elf-like creature called a Gelfling who is tasked to restore a broken “dark crystal” so he can save the land from the evil Skeksis race. This movie combined Henson’s puppets with animatronics, and the result is a movie that had a unique look back in the 1980s. You might want to watch the original before binge-watching the newly launched Netflix prequel series, The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.

These are the best kids movies on Netflix you can watch right now in our opinion. We’ll make sure to update this post with new titles once they hit the streaming service.
