Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 series reaches milestone, hits 15m units sold

The back of the Redmi Note 7 Pro.

Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 series might be the firm’s best budget phones yet, and it seems like consumers around the world agree. In fact, the Chinese brand has revealed a rather impressive sales figure this week.

According to the Redmi India Twitter account, Xiaomi has sold 15 million Redmi Note 7 series phones globally in six months.

The news comes a few months after announcing that the series hit the four million units shipped mark by the end of March. Today’s figure can likely be attributed to more stock in existing regions, and launches in new markets. It’s also pretty noteworthy to see this sales performance when the Note 7 Pro is only available in China and India.

Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 7 series stands out from rival manufacturers thanks to its cheap starting price, 48MP rear camera, and 4,000mAh battery.

The standard Note 7 (known as the Note 7S in India) offers a Snapdragon 660 chipset, 3GB to 6GB of RAM, 32GB to 128GB of expandable storage, and a 48MP Samsung GM-1 camera sensor. Meanwhile, the Pro variant delivers a Snapdragon 675 processor, 4GB to 6GB of RAM, 64GB to 128GB of expandable storage, and a 48MP Sony IMX586 main sensor.
