Got a Pocophone F1 with touch issues? Xiaomi wants your device

The Xiaomi Pocophone F1.

Xiaomi has done a pretty solid job of supporting the Pocophone F1 via firmware updates, bringing new features and bug fixes to the affordable flagship. The company is stepping things up to solve touchscreen issues though, as it’s now calling for users to submit their devices for testing.

Pocophone head Alvin Tse announced the news on Twitter, confirming that the brand was looking for devices that suffered from screen freezing, phantom touches, and touch lag in general.

Don’t go sending in your device just yet though, as the company is asking users to first send their user ID, contact information, videos, and other details. Once they’ve determined that your Pocophone F1 is suitable for testing, they’ll contact you to arrange retrieval of the phone.

Editor's Pick

It’s a pretty sensible move by Xiaomi, and it doesn’t seem like the type of thing you’d see from manufacturers very often, if at all. Hopefully, the firm gives users a loaner Pocophone F1 (or another flagship) if they choose to submit their device for testing. Regardless, we’re glad to see the company hasn’t forgotten about the 2018 model now that the Redmi K20 Pro is on the way.

The Pocophone F1 has received quite a few additions since launching in August 2018. Some of the more prominent features added to the device post-launch include 4K/60fps recording, 960fps slow-mo, the Game Turbo mode, and a night mode for low-light snaps. A company executive also confirmed last year that the affordable flagship will receive Android Q, so you can expect even more features down the line.
