Presenting Oppo A9, Fresh from A Series; starting @ CNY 16,99

Oppo has added a new phone to its mid-budget range A series – the Oppo A9. The phone was unveiled on 30th April in China and boasts a near bezel-less full HD+ water drop notch display. The A9 sports a dual camera, 16MP primary alongside 2MP secondary, on its back which has a 4,020 mAh battery to go with its large 6.53” screen. There is no official word on when the phone will be available in India, though.

Oppo A9 Specifications

The phone comes in three colors which are dubbed as – Mica Green, Ice Jade White & Fluorite purple. While the only variant available currently has a 6GB RAM with 128GB of internal storage, Oppo is also offering microSD card support up to 256GB. Under the hood, it is powered by a P70 chipset octa-core Helio from MediaTek with MP3 GPU Mali-G72 and comes with GameBoost 2.0.

The A9 also runs ColorOS 6.0 based on Andriod P on the software front. While the battery size is a generous 4,020 mAh what is disappointing is the absence Type-C port for its charging. The phone, although has VOOC 3.0 fast charging (20W) support, has a micro-USB port for its charging. The phone also offers Face Unlock option with the fingerprint sensor on its glass back. While Oppo is known for the camera of its phones, this one is no different as it has a dual camera setup on its back with 16MP & 2MP lens combination. The front camera, not a pop-up selfie camera, is 16MP AI-powered unit.

The A9’s selling point for Oppo though is its screen which claims a 90.7% screen-to-body ratio. The 6.53” screen, which proves to be too big for one hand, has a full HD+ water drop notch display which is pleasing to one’s eyes. Other options of connectivity include 4G LTE support, Bluetooth 4.2, WiFi, GPS.

The features of OPPO A9 features the 6’53’’ which is approx 16.59 cm display screen with the resolution of 1080 × 2340 pixels which runs the Android phone of version 9.0 of pie operating system (OS). The smart device is empowered with the octa-core such as 2.1 GHz, Cortex A73 + 2 GHz, Quad-core processor, Cortex A53 which is paired with RAM of 6 GB storage. Price & Availability

The Chinese maker has put a price tag of CNY 1,699 on A9, however, it’s yet to be made official when the phone will be launched in India. It will also be interesting to see if Oppo chooses to tweak the configuration of the A9 to bring other variants in the Indian market or if it will stick to the top-end variant which has a 6GB RAM and has 128GB memory.
